I braved the crowds on Thursday night to be among the first people to enter the Apple Store. Of course I wanted the official t-shirt too. The queue went in front of the building on George St, down King St, and then onto York St in the QVB (southern) direction.

It was heaps of fun though. The atmosphere was buzzing and electric. It was like being invited to an exclusive VIP event! Everyone (staff and customers/visitors) was so happy and excited. I was playing on an iMac by myself (including doing stupid things with that Photo Booth program), when a staff member asked if I needed any assistance. I didn’t really but we chatted anyway and we went through iPhoto 8 and Apple Aperture. While we were chatting, I suddenly realized that there were two video cameras pointed at us and I was quite embarrassed! They said it was only internal (for Apple) and very unlikely that many people would see the footage, so I guess that’s OK. I had to sign a model release to allow them to use the footage. Anyway, I didn’t buy a single thing but still had heaps of fun!

Here are some pics I took:

To celebrate the occasion, I have changed my WordPress template to an iPhone one (even though the phone won’t be out till July).
